Corrections and emendations by the author throughout in pencil and ink; the poem 'Waterloo Station, 1914-40" on page 56 is crossed out and inscribed:“Cut this right out. I can't bear it any more... The writing here is very ordinary. And as for the sestet, it implies my son will not be a C.O. It’s all right for me. But I shall forbid my son to take part in any war - for the good of his own soul - or cut him off root-and-branch. The first line is the only good one."
