A fantasy about a little wizard who aspires to be a great Indian magician. He collects Northwest Indian totems and creates an imaginary tribe, the munes, over which he hopes to rule. Inspired by the Haida and Tlingit peoples of the Pacific Northwest, cf. Cotsen.

Twenty-eight full-page illustrations, including frontispiece, some in color, most signed: W, and numerous vignettes and decorated initials.
