Print is one of a set of 3 prints after drawings by Gillot originally intended by the artist to comprise part of a projected suite of 6 designs to serve as models for tapestries; recorded by Populus under the title, "Les quatre saisons représentées par quatre nations".
Forms part of a collection of 586 etchings by and after Claude Gillot, mounted into a bound album by a former owner, with letterpress title page reading "Oeuvres de Gillot." (see PML 198162).

Summary
Print shows a banquet in laid out under the trees, with a buffet set up with a display of fine silver on a table at center; an decorated basin holding wine bottles sit on the ground in front of the buffet, and at left and right are figures representing the four nations of (at left) France and Italy, and (at right) Spain and Holland; within border, with a garland of grapes and fruit at head of composition.
