Published set of vignettes by Gillot etched for a 12mo edition of of M. de la Motte's "Fables nouvelles", which was never published. Later acquired and reworked by Gabriel Huquier, who executed the title page.
Includes Huquier's title plate, frontispiece plate and two preliminary vignettes, the frontispiece and preliminary plates designated A, B, and C respectively, followed by 112 numbered vignettes, lettered with captions, the majority signed "Gillot I et g".
Forms part of a collection of 586 etchings by and after Claude Gillot, mounted into a bound album by a former owner, with letterpress title page reading "Oeuvres de Gillot." (see PML 198162).
