Illustration shows the interior of a salon, where an elegantly dressed woman stands in the left corner with her back to the paintings, holding a fan with her left hand; beyond, at right, in the doorway, a gentleman can be seen gesturing with his hands in front of him; in the foreground, the salon is furnished with a table at right, on which there rests a quill and paper; on the parquet under the table are two crickets; a canapé seen at left; three paintings decorate the wall at left and behind; one on the back wall depicts the mythological tale of Pan and Syrinx.
