Forms part of a collection of 586 etchings by and after Claude Gillot, mounted into a bound album by a former owner, with letterpress title page reading "Oeuvres de Gillot." (see PML 198162).
Illustration shows a king seated in a a throne at center; at left, four figures next to him, one of which stands on a step leading to the throne; at right, a supplicant, dressed in a long robe, leaning towards the king; behind this courtier, a woman stands at far right; beyond, at right, two figures can be seen.
