Printed altar card (Tabella secretarum) in three letterpress panels, issued in Paris in 1618 and illustrated with a border of hand colored engravings illustrating the Passion of Christ, with the leaves of text and engraved borders separately clipped and trimmed and mounted together into a folding triptych binding of three brown gilt leather boards; engraving of the Last Supper in the bottom margin of the central panel is signed by the engraver, "Jaq. de Weert f."; engraving at the foot of the left hand panel signed by the publisher, "J le Clerc ex."; text printed in black and red. Publisher's imprint at the foot of the the text leaf on the panel at right. Altar cards were memory aids to assist the celebrant at Mass. Propped against the back of the altar, the cards contained important prayers said by the priest.
Central panel contains the Words of Consecration from the Canon ("Hoc est enim Corpus meum" and "Hic est enim calix Sanguinis"), with an engraving of the Crucifixion at head. Panel at left contains extracts from the Missal, including the Gloria and Credo and Last Gospel (John 1:1-14) ("In principio erat Verbus"), with passages calling for the priest to genuflect printed in red, and an engraving of the Moses and the brazen serpent at head. Panel at right contains prayers for the holding of the host over the paten ("Suscipe sancte pater"), offering of the chalice ("Offerimus tibi Dñe calicem"), following the eating of the Sacrement ("Domine Jesu Christ"), and before the Benediction ("Placeat tibi sancta"), with an engraving of Moses and Israelites receiving manna from Heaven. With rubrics printed in red throughout.

Trimmed and mounted leaves of text measure, on central panel: 131 x 112 mm; on panel at right: 263 x 130 mm; on panel at left: 260 x 133 mm. Partial borders measure 400 x 180 mm at left and right, with a full border at center measuring 400 x 207 mm.
