Proof on Kelmscott paper (with Morris's "perch" watermark) of a wood engraving by William Harcourt Hooper after a design by Edward Burne-Jones to illustrate "The parliament of fowls", page 313 of William Morris's Kelmscott Press edition of the Works of Geoffrey Chaucer (Hammersmith : Printed by William Morris at the Kelmscott Press, 8 May 1896).
From a drawing by Burne-Jones, the design reworked for transfer to woodblock by Robert Catterson-Smith, and subsequently engraved by William Harcourt Hooper.
Signed by the engraver with his monogram at lower right.
