Inscriptions/Markings
Proof touched by the artist in white and red with directions to engraver to lighten areas of the print at the water's edge, the grass in the foreground, and the Man's face; signed in pencil with the artist's initials at lower left, and annotated, "Man's face" at top, and "Grass has been lightened" at bottom; numbered "26" at upper right and "p. 169" in the bottom right hand corner; with "Corrected Jan 28 '95" written in red ink, probably in the hand of Sydney Cockerell, at lower right.
