Formerly laid into a bound collection of proofs, cancelled leaves, and wood engravings for William Morris's Kelmscott Press edition of his The well at the world's end (see PML 76938.1), removed and housed separately; individual items comprising this collection have been cataloged separately.
Proofs of the wood engravings by William Harcourt Hooper after 10 designs by Arthur Gaskin intended to illustrate William Morris's Kelmscott Press edition of his The well at the world's end; Gaskin's designs were ultimately rejected by Morris and the book was issued by the Kelmscott Press with four wood engraved illustrations after designs by Edward Burne-Jones.
With one of the prints, "Ralph and Morfinn the Minstrel", signed with the monogram of the engraver at lower left.
