Lithograph t.p. in blue and gold, title within lozenge-shaped floral frame.
Laid in: a sheet of gray hand-made paper with blue and silver flower-and-dot decoration and with a pasted-on, lozenge-shaped decoration, probably cut out of the dust jacket, which is lacking. It features two gold fish and five crowns, repeating the frame on the t.p., and printed in red, gold, blue, green, and black.
Twelve of Andersen's fairy tales, abridged and translated from the Danish.
Twelve full-page color illustrations in the Jugendstil aesthetic, some signed GA or AG; text and illustrations printed within elaborate pictorial frames in gold and gray.
The illustrations first appeared in the Andersen Kalender 1911, designed by Heinrich Lefler and Joseph Urban and printed by M. Munk in Stuttgart in 1910.
