Letters responding to Stone's queries regarding copies of the New England primer, many from Charles Heartman, some with carbon copies of Stone's letters, chiefly from the nineteen teens and twenties; offprints or fragments from the Bookman (1896), the Colonial Society of Massachusetts (1934), the Sunday School Times (1882), individual listings of primers for sale, many from the 1890s, many annotated with prices; plus photostats of pages from primers, transcriptions of title pages, and miscellaneous bibliographical information including lists of primers in Stone's collection.
