Signed on verso in ink by French printseller, engraver and publisher Naudet: "Chez Naudet M.d au Louvre 1817"; with a note by former owner in pencil on sheet below mounted print: Adriaen van Ostade. Epreuve tirée avant que deux éraillures perpendiculaires sur le ciel, entre le gros arbre et la chaumière, n'aint disparu.

Summary
Print shows a gathering of people in front of an inn at right, with dancing and drinking, a street-seller or quack doctor selling his wares to a small crowd at center, a horse-drawn cart heading towards a church at left, and groups of people gathering under awnings in the background at left.
