Signed within the plate at lower right.
State III, with the border strengthened but before the shadows were retouched with vertical lines on the side of the pedlar's basket.
Mounted as item 39 into an album of 63 etchings by van Ostade, evidently created by collecter Achille Seilliere (PML 4350).
Library's copy closely trimmed to image and inlaid in narrow border.
