Title from Everyday life in Holland's golden age (catalogue of the complete etchings of Adriaen van Ostade by S.W. Pelletier & L.J. Slatke).
Signed by the artist and dated "1652" within the plate at lower right.
State III, with fine lines added to the space on the stable door next to the head of the sitting pig, but before the completion of the outlines of the board between the pigs and the cellar door.
Mounted as item 41 into an album of 63 etchings by van Ostade, evidently created by collecter Achille Seilliere (PML 4350).
