Title from Everyday life in Holland's golden age (catalogue of the complete etchings of Adriaen van Ostade by S.W. Pelletier & L.J. Slatke).
Lettered "Av. ostade" and dated "1647" by the artist at lower left.
State IX(?), with the vertical hatching between the wheel and border at lower right, but before the addition of the horizontal lines above the woman's back at right, but with heavy smudging on the area above her back and the barrel to her immediate left.
Mounted as item 31 into an album of 63 etchings by van Ostade, evidently created by collecter Achille Seilliere (PML 4350).
