Suite of 6 unnumbered plates with captions and publisher's press release (1 page) in illustrated envelope; the second in a series of three Frankenstein portfolios featuring illustrations created by Wrightson for a proposed edition of Frankenstein and issued by the publisher as part of their effort to finance the production of the fully illustrated edition of Mary Shelley's novel; Wrightson's Frankenstein was ultimately issued by Dodd, Mead in 1983 and included 5 of the 6 illustrations included here.

The purpose of this portfolio, as with the first, is to help cover the production costs of the book. All of the illustrations contained in both portfolios will appear in the book...all, that is, save one. Due to editorial considerations, one plate in the present portfolio (...with unrelaxed and breathless eagerness, I pursued nature to her hiding places.) will not appear in the book.
