Henry H. Bonnell has signed his name in ink on page [60], inscribing in pencil below: "Complimentary copy sent me by A. H. Clark Co.'s representative at sale." Inscribed on cover: "Brontë Sale." The Brontë lots have been annotated throughout by several hands over time, including contemporaneous marks related to prices, buyers' names, and minor corrections, likely by an employee of A. H. Clark; later pencil additions reflect items acquired by Henry Bonnell, still others note their Morgan Library accession numbers.
