Collection consists of: Arithmetical croquet : for two players / by Lewis Carroll, first separate printing, Adams & Lowell Press, March 1965 (PML 352911.1); A letter from Alice in Wonderland facsimile of a letter by an unknown writer, undated, published for the Little Theatre, John Street, Adelphi W.C. (PML 352911.2); newspaper clipping from the New York Times Book Review, 15 November 1970 with "Speaking of Books: letters from Wonderland" by Morton N. Cohen about Lewis Carroll's letter writing (PML 352911.3); Auctioning "Alice" : a newspaper story / by Bradford F. Swan in the Providence Journal of April 4, 1946, with inscription in ink inside front wrapper: "For Arthur Houghton, a great friend of libraries, from the meanest of the species, Bradford F. Swan" (PML 352911.4); pages from auction catalog from July 1932 (pages 55-58) with annotations and markings in unknown hand in pencil and red pencil throughout, pages 56-57 include the sale of Lewis Carroll items from the properties of the late Mrs. Skene, Miss Lucy Wilcox, Frank G. Thomas, Esq., and Mrs. Alice Pleasance Hargreaves, notable items include: autograph letters, photographs, and Carroll's microscope (PML 352911.5); typed letter signed from C.L. Dodgson to Mrs. Craik, Oxford, 5 April 1882, asking for help editing his project of a selection of the Plays of Shakespeare for the use of girls and promoting a friend of his for drawing instruction, signed in purple ink (PML 352911.6); Cornhill magazine, No. 334, New Series, No. 772, April 1924, with "Early writings of Lewis Carroll by His Honour Judge Parry" (pages 455-468) (PML 352911.7); Overseas : the monthly journal of the Overseas League, Vol. xvii, No. 200, September 1932, with photo of Alice and her signature on page 65 of her at the Vernon House (PML 352911.8); St. Nicholas, Scribner's illustrated magazine for girls and boys, December 1877, includes Bruno's revenge (pages 81-88) (PML 352911.9). Also includes various copies of postcards from Lewis Carroll centenary exhibition and duplicate invitations for the Lewis Carroll centenary celebration at Columbia University (Cf.
