Notes:
Diptych-shaped wooden and slate writing tablet, probably 20th century Javanese.
Comprising two carved wooden plates attached with hinges, two pieces of slate, and a soft-slate stylus. The panels are decorated on the outside with carvings of two Javanese wayang puppet figures and floral ornaments. The upper plate has a small rectangular piece of slate pasted onto the center. Recessed spaces on the inside of the plates accommodate two pieces of slate.
