Printer's setting sheets for a book catalog issued by Waiting for Godot Books, entitled: John Updike : a collection (Brookline, Mass. Waiting for Godot Books, 1980). Proofs consists of a cover sheet and 38 sheets numbered 1-38 in pen, many of them taped together back to back, with border and specifications printed on each sheet in light blue and two registration marks on plastic tape affixed to the head of each sheet. Illustrations are included in the layout as sheets of black film or plastic mounted in place on the sheet. The printed specifications at the foot of each page read: 8 1/2 x 14' sheet / 6 1/2 x 11 typing area / 65 reduction for type 4 1/4 x 7 1/4 with 5/8 inch final margin.
Cover sheet consists of 3 sheets of different sizes, stapled together; corrections have been made to the text in some sheets by pasting over thin slips of printed paper.
Housed in a mailing envelope with printed return address of Waiting for Godot Books; inscribed in ink: Printers setting sheets for: "John Updike: a collection [signed] Gary Oleson" (Gary Oleson was the proprietor of Waiting For Godot Books).
