Summary
A series of 4 vignettes forming an illustrated border, showing (from lower left to lower right) an umbrella seller standing on the sidewalk beside a doorway; an artist painting in an outdoor setting beneath the shade of an umbrella; a woman holding a parasol giving alms to a poor woman with two children as her own daughter offers the daughter of the beggar woman her doll; a woman on a rainy street struggling with her umbrella which has turned inside-out in a high wind.
