Enright has marked this copy on 34 pages in two different inks, frequently striking through phrases and occasionally offering word or phrase substitutions or brief commentary; a manuscript epigraph quoting Stevie Smith is inscribed on the half title page: "The nearly right / And yet not quite / In love is wholly evil".
