"According to La Combe, versions of this print were made with the title "Le Gamin eminemment et profondement libéral"; the word "libéral" was subsequently replaced by "national". The inscription "BELLANGÉ" on the child's satchel is probably a reference to the lithographer Hippolyte Bellangé."--British Museum online catalog.
