"La Combe states that this lithograph was printed between July 1820 and September 1822; it was produced for "Fastes de la Nation français" (a type of publication outlining heroic deeds of ordinary French people.) published by Decrouan."--Curator's comments, British Museum catalog online.
Comprises plate 21 of v. 1 of a 5 v. set of albums containing a collection of 496 lithographs by Charlet, including published suites of plates and individually published prints.
Library's copy trimmed at foot; sheet folded down the center and mounted on bound stub.

Summary
Print shows a scene from a battle at Hallhauzen(?) on 12 June 1800, during the passage of the Lech, where Lefévre, a regular soldier, is supposed to have acted courageously; a bearded soldier (Lefévre), seen at right in profile crossing a bridge with his sword drawn towards his enemies; soldiers firing canons are silhouetted in the background and a corpse is in the foreground at left.
