Telescopic, chromolithographed peepshow with one circular viewing hole, comprising a front cover, four cut-out images and a backdrop connected at the top and bottom by bands of contemporary paper, folded accordion-style.
The front cover shows the exterior of the domed Great Hall with visitors gathering at the entrance. The viewing hole allows you a perspective view of the arched galleries inside the rotunda and in the nave behind, visitors milling about.
The Nordic Exhibition of Industry, Agriculture, and Art of 1888 featured the best of art, industry, and agriculture products from the Nordic, as well as other Europian countries. The exhibition was held in the Tivoli Gardens of Copenhagen, and the Great Exhibition Hall, designed by Martin Nyrop was built for the occasion. It was built in the Nordic style, entirely in wood, richly decorated, and painted in vivid red and green colors. It was later torn down and replaced by the new Town Hall, also designed by Nyrop.
