Part of a large collection of prints, drawings, and letters bound into an extra-illustrated copy of Thomas Moore's Letters and journals of Lord Byron (PML 146390-97); assembled by collector David Langton and formerly in the possession of John Dillon and Gordon Ray.
Text corresponds closely to Blacket's account of his life published in v. 2 of the Monthly magazine for 1811 and in the introduction to The Remains of Joseph Blacket ... and a Memoir of His Life (London : Sherwood, Neely, and Jones, 1811), in both instances presented in publication as the contents of a letter to Samuel Jackson Pratt dated Feb. 3, 1809.
