Evidently an edition of Wells' work issued ca. 1906 by publisher A.C. Fifield, using the sheets from the earlier first ed. published by T. Fisher Unwin in 1902 and retaining the original t.p. (cf. G.H. Wells). The the proposed date and identification of Fifield as the secondary publisher of this ed. is further supported by contemporary publisher's advertisements of the day and by the presence of Fifield's advertisements on the volume's wrappers.
