Summary
Print shows a scene in the House of Commons. Fox has taken Lord North's left hand in both his, while North, applying a paint-brush to his face, has made a white patch on its swarthiness. Fox (left), full-face, with an inscrutable expression, is descending the lowest step below the tiers of seats. North stands in profile to his left looking at Fox with anxious frown. Behind are rows of members, their heads sketchily indicated. A dog looks up at North. The inscription below the design reads, "--Qui color ater erat nunc est contrarus atro / Translated for the Country Gentlemen / "I have found him a warm Friend a fair though formidable Adversary." Cf. George.
