Board from a French game of steeple-chase in large format. The playing board has an un-colored lithograph mounted on blue glazed cardboard, backed by linen, and folded in three. The playing surface is long and oval-shaped, marked with 100 playing slots: no. 1 Depart, and no. 100: Arrivée. Five of the spaces depict various fence and ditch obstacles. An illustration in the center depicts the grandstand, race goers, coaches, and ladies and gentlemen on horseback. In each corner is a scene from a horse race.
