Original illustrations attributed to Liberale da Verona have been recut on wood by Anna Bramanti and hand-colored at the Atelier Daniel Jacomet.
Vol. 2 has title: The first three books of Caxton's Aesop : containing the fables illustrated in the Verona Aesopus of MCCCCLXXIX.
The first fable and the final six of the Veronese edition, which were not translated by Caxton, have been newly translated from the Latin by Betty Radice.
Caxton's spelling and punctuation modernized by Hans and Tanya Schmoller.
Printed in an edition of 160 copies on hand-made Magnani paper with the watermark of a goose, reproduced from the original edition.
