Notes
Title from box.
Telescopic peepshow. It comprises seven handcolored cut-out panels and a backdrop; the front is the lid of a cartonnage box. The lid, cut-out panels, and backdrop are connected on the vertical sides by bands of accordion pleated paper. A two piece title vignette is mounted on the sides of the first fold and moves out of view when the peepshow is stretched open.
Viewed through a large oval hole, cut out from the center of the lid, the city of Florence is depicted on the seventh panel with the river Arno and Ponte Vecchio in the center, and the cathedral to the right. The backdrop shows a mountainous landscape.
The set has no text or numbering.
