Dated from internal evidence - this ballad concerns the raising of an Irish Brigade by Archbishop Paul Cullen to fight in Italy for Pius IX and the Papal States against Garibaldi and the Italian patriots. The Brigade was raised in 1860.
Printed in a single column within black border, with a wood engraved ornament of a harp at head of sheet.
Item mounted onto a leaf from an album of collected song sheets and broadsides (PML 136667) the individual folios disbound and housed in two boxes.
