Telescopic, hand-colored, lithographed peepshow of the Great Exhibition. It comprises a front cover, backdrop, and five cut-out images, connnected at the sides by bands of chintz, folded accordian-style.
The image on the front cover displays the Royal Coats of Arms and a vignette of two allegorical figures of painting and literature. There is a peephole lens in the center looking down the central isle of the Crystal Palace, with crowds milling about. The third panel shows the Crystal Fountain, while the fourth panel displays Queen Victoria and her entourage standing in front of the backdrop, under a red and golden canopy.
