Telescopic, hand-colored, lithographed peep-show of the Great Exhibition. It comprises a front cover, backdrop, and eight cut-out images, connected at the sides by bands of chintz folded accordian-style.
The image on the front cover shows a guard welcoming a family of four at the curtained entrance to Crystal Palace exhibition hall. It has a cut-out peephole looking down the central isle of the Crystal Palace, with crowds milling about, while fountains and statues form a central spectacle on the eight cut-out prints in front of the backdrop.
