Set of historical lotto game subtitled "Events in the Lives of Monarchs from William I to William IV" (V&A collections cat.) Consists of 35 large green printed cards (10 x 16.3 cm) each with the name of a monarch, and 14 dates or numbers associated with their reign ; 527 small pink paper counters in a brown silk draw-string bag, 478 of which bear dates or numbers, 49 are blank ; 36 red, and 133 white disc-shaped bone counters in a decorated paper box ; a small rectangular mahogany tray to hold the bone counters ; and a folding mahogany board with a hinged leg at one end by which the board may be tilted to form a chute down the grooves of which a marble ball may descend to ring a bell suspended from a metal stand at the bottom. This is a timing device for the players.
