Summary
Shows a couple sitting up in bed to exchange New Year's Day gifts; the man at right holds a large loaf of sugar as his intended gift for his wife, while his wife, at left, holds up a bonnet for him to give her.
Binding
Plate loosely housed with other works by Gavarni in 1/2 calf binding, lettered "Gavarni" in gold on the spine; with the bookplate of Michael Sadleir.
