Notes
Imprint from cover.
The book's title page bears the imprint from Car Illustrated's 1915 London edition. It says "1/- nett" on the book's spine, and there are motor car advertisements from London on the back pages following the main sequence. Dutton didn't publish an edition with their own imprint on the title page until 1917, and in that 1917 edition the back pages are blank, lacking advertisements. Dutton may have affixed a new illustration bearing their own imprint over the cover illustration of Car Illustrated's 1915 London edition. This means this book must have been issued some time between 1915-1917.
Illustrations after John Tenniel.
