Work originally issued in 6 parts, with the volume originally published separately and subsequently issued as v. 3 of a 3 volume set, along with Mayer's "Views in Egypt" and "Views in Palestine", the whole issued in 1804 with collective t.p. "Views in Egypt, Palestine and others parts of the Ottoman Empire". Cf. Abbey.
Library's copy has 16 of the 24 plates from a later issue, with the Bowyer imprint and a date of 1812 or 1811 and parallel caption text in English and French; the remaining plates bearing the original date of 1803.
