Summary
Collection of 82 engraver's proofs, working proofs, and preliminary etched states of steel engravings by E. and W. Finden, J.B. Allen, and others, after Turner's illustrations for Landscape illustrations of the Bible (London : John Murray, 1836, with descriptive text by Thomas Hartwell Horne); all impressions before letters, most printed chine collé. Includes 5 impressions of the unpublished engraving "Jerusalem from the Latin Convent", issued in 1833, according to Rawlinson (no. 597), as a specimen plate, but never included in any published edition of the work.
