Title supplied by Campbell (p. 40).
Printed in black and hand-colored by the artist in four hues of wash; trimmed to the edges of the impression and mounted on cream board; signed in pen and ink, as called for, on the lower left of board: W. Nicholson.
An Alphabet was published in October, 1897, post-dated to 1898 (cf. Campbell).
