Editor's corrected galley proofs for a book of contributions by Lewis Carroll which appeared in the magazine the Train, 1856-1857, with most marks and corrections on the second leaf by the editor.
Proof consists of 14 numbered galley sheets preceded by 2 unnumbered sheets--the title page from the issue of the Train in which the pieces appeared, and a sheet with the half-title page, title page, dedication, contents and list of illustrations.
"Lewis Carroll, born January 27, 1832, a centenary tribute"--Half title page.
"Being contributions to 'The Train,' 1856-1857, with the original illustrations by C. H. Bennett and W. McConnell ; together with some Carrollian [sic] episodes concerning trains."
"Arranged, with a preface, by Hugh J. Schonfield."
Housed in red cloth 4-flap folder with the proof's original typescript (PML 352287).
