Four numbered leaves of etched text with illustrations, accompanied by etched title page/folder. Front of folder depicts a trompe-l'oeil design of a letter dated "Paris Juin 1864" with stamped envelope addressed with the above title information to "Chez Messieurs Cadart et Luquet rue Richelieu 79"; with the text of the letter reading, "Messieurs Je vous adresse la lettre dont je vous ai entretenus. Elle est d'un eau-fortiste de mes amis! Si vous jugez qu'elle puisse aider quelu'un, je suis autorisé a en publier un fac-simile ... Martial"; text of the enclosed 4 p. etched ms. facsimile is dated 1860 and is a discussion of etching technique, including the laying of the ground, the biting of the plate & equipment used, such as etching needles.
