Summary
Explaining that a "severe affliction which has just befallen the Academy" (i.e. the death of Sir Thomas Lawrence) has delayed a response to Magrath's request on behalf of the Committee of the [Boston] Athenaeum for the loan of a statue of Demosthenes for the purpose of making a cast of it to adorn their new quarters and conveying the decision of the Council of the Royal Academy who have assented to the loan.
