Folded, handwritten place card for Mr. Houghton dated Dormy House, May 10, 1932 on front, with a drawing of Alice inside and the caption "The door into the immortal garden".
According to a note given with the place card, it was used to mark Mr. Houghton's place at the table of a dinner held by Morris L. Parrish for Mrs. Hargreaves (i.e., Alice Liddell) at his home in Pine Valley, N.J., to honor her visit to the United States commemorating the 100th anniversary of Lewis Carroll's birth.
