Set of 7 unopened envelopes all addressed to Arthur A. Houghton, Jr. Each envelope has a paper label affixed to the left of the addressee with an image of Alice and the words: "Alice's adventures in Wonderland, commemorating the 70th anniversary of its publication July 3 1865". Each envelope is postmarked July 3, 1935.
Each envelope is postmarked from a different town: Alice, N.D.; Advent, W.V.; Ina, Ill.; Wonderland, Calif.; Lewis, Iowa; Carroll, Iowa; and Ludowigi, Ga.
Handprinted next to label on envelope from Lewis, Iowa: "Received at Lewis, Iowa under cover from the post office at New York, N.Y."
