"This woodcut representing two globes, one with the lamb triumphant above it, and the other with the lamb marching below it, first appears at the beginning of the Spegel der Gherechticheit ... It was used repeatedly as the frontispiece of HN's [i.e. Hendrik Niclaes's] writings. Surrounding the illustration is a text drawn mainly from the Book of Revelations concerning the triumph of the lamb on the Day of Judgement."--Hamilton (see below).
Inserted as item 181 into an album of collected prints, broadsides, drawings, and miscellaneous single sheet items, assembled by former owner Joseph Ames and entitled "Emblematical and satirical prints on persons and professions" (PML 145850).
