Plate from Anthony Egan's The book of rates, now used in the sin custom-house of the church of Rome (London : Isaac Cleave, 1678).
Another state of this engraving in the holdings of the British Museum shows the addition of a demon whispering into the Popes ear with a banderole reading, "our disignes in England are discovered therefore I come to give you advise you must not spare for indulgences", a rod in the priest's raised hand, and text within the image identifying the individual cardinals by name.
Inserted as item 175 into an album of collected prints, broadsides, drawings, and miscellaneous single sheet items, assembled by former owner Joseph Ames and entitled "Emblematical and satirical prints on persons and professions" (PML 145850).

Summary
Print shows the Pope surrounded by four cardinals and instructing a priest, "noe matter for conscience see you fill my coffers", as the priest hears a confession and tells the penitent kneeling before him "you must pay £50 for your absolution".
