One of the first publisher's catalogues in book form. The earliest known example was published by Robert Estienne in 1542 (Breslauer and Folter, Bibliography, its history and development [1984], item 13).
A priced catalogue of book stock Robert Estienne inherited from his father Henri Estienne and his stepfather Simon de Colines. Dated on the basis of an entry in the Renouard Estienne bibliography, which describes another catalogue issued in August 1546 by other booksellers involved in settling the same estate.
