Binding
Cloth cover with gold thread embroidery surrounding painted scenes with mottos, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers. Painting on the front cover depicts a woman sitting under a tree holding flowers with the motto "Mes faveurs serons pour le moins ingrat", painting on the back cover depicts the woman standing under a tree with two dogs with the motto "Chassez aux coeurs iris le mien y sera pris". Housed in slipcase (118 x 76 x 22 mm) 1/4 green leather, remainder covered in tan buckram, lined with green felt. Title and year stamped in gold on spine, "19JPW58" stamped in gold on bottom of spine, slipcase made by Julia Wightman.
